The Highlight

This isn’t your typical mountain hut, nor does the word “guesthouse” do it justice. Tadao’s Home, located in Datong Village, is an ideal resting place in the forested heart of Taroko— striking a rare balance between rustic simplicity and essential comforts.

Trek on foot into the legendary "Dark Villages" of Dali and Datong, hidden deep within the Liwu River valley.

Spend the first night resting and preparing in Hualien City. On day two, you'll head into the mountains for a night under a canopy of stars. At dawn, a light-pack hike takes you to the Mt. Liwu viewpoint to witness a spectacular sunrise over the Pacific Ocean.

Along the trail, you'll pass through pristine broadleaf forests, cross suspension bridges, and immerse yourself in the beautiful tapestry of indigenous culture and raw nature that defines Taroko’s hidden paths.

⚠ Trip Regulations & National Park Guidelines

Team Safety & Itinerary Adjustments

The entire trek is led by experienced team leaders and guides. All participants are required to stay with the group at all times and are strictly prohibited from separating from the team to act independently.

In the event of unforeseen circumstances such as earthquakes, rockfalls, severe weather, or trail collapse, the team leader reserves the right to alter the itinerary or order a retreat for safety reasons. All participants must comply with such decisions unconditionally and without objection.

Should any participant encounter a life-threatening situation, all other team members are obligated to cooperate with emergency procedures and provide assistance. Mountaineering is an activity of shared risk, and all participants share a collective responsibility for the group's safety and welfare.
